There are over 77 million blogs on Tumblr. Thus, this is a very popular site.
Tumblr is like WordPress and Twitter combined. You can use it to create a blog that people can follow. Then, followers can see all of your posts.
It doesn't require much writing. It's more about pictures than writing. You don't even have to come up with your own pictures for all of your posts. You can re-blog pictures from other Tumblr accounts. You will give the original poster credit. It's a lot like sending out a retweet on Twitter.
Tumblr Objective: Your main objective on Tumblr will be to get as many followers as possible.
In order to do that, you will need to post content consistently. You can schedule posts automatically. You can also find content and queue it.
Additionally, you will need to follow a lot of people. About 25% of the people who you follow will follow you back. Thus, if you follow a lot of people, you will likely get a lot of followers.
Monetize Tumblr :
You want to make money with Tumblr. In order to do that, you need to tap into Tumblr's traffic and build a following. Then, you will need to get the content to go viral.It's important that you don’t post spammy affiliate links when you do this. It's also important that you don't break Tumblr's terms and conditions.
Create a Recurring Income :
You want to use Tumblr to create a recurring income. There are a couple of ways you can do this.
1. Use Google AdSense :
This is Google's advertising network. You can let Google run ads on your page and make money in the process.
2. Pay-per-click-networks :
If you go with this option, you will get a link to promote. When someone wants traffic, they will pay you to run their ads. It's a great way to advertise with Twitter and Tumblr.
Before you can get started with advertising, you have to choose a niche.
Choose Your niche:You have probably gone through training for choosing niches before. Tumblr is a little bit different, though. You need to pick a niche that has a lot of pictures, content and categories. This will help make money with PPC networks.
You can find niches by looking at the magazine section in Amazon. You can also check what other people are posting on Tumblr. That will really help you determine what is popular.
Start multiple blogs in different niches. Some will grow faster than others. You just need to get 1,000 followers to make good money. You can assess your followers and cut the blogs that aren't popular.

Section 2-Tumblr Setup:
In this section, you will learn how to set up your Tumblr page. Let's begin with picking your domain name.
Get Set Up:-You need to pick out a domain that's relevant to your niche. You will use this domain name to send traffic directly to your Tumblr page.
Once you come up with a domain name, you will need to see how it ranks in Google. While you can't tell how the actual domain ranks, you can tell how the keywords inside of the domain rank. You will determine this by doing keyword research. When you do your keyword research, you will also need to find keywords to include on your Tumblr page.
Keyword Research :
You will use the Google Keyword Tool to conduct you keyword research. Go to Google and search for the Google Keyword tool. Then, click on the corresponding link.
Once you arrive at the tool, type in the keywords that are in your domain name. Then, type in the CAPTCHA and search for keywords.
A list of results will come up. Your search phrase will be the first result. Look at the keyword’s global monthly searches and competition. You want to find keywords that have at least 3,000 global monthly searches and low to medium levels of competition.
Next, look at the related keywords. Make a list of keywords that meet your criteria. Then you can target those keywords in your campaign.
Domain Name :Then you will go to Godaddy.com and choose a domain name. Create an account and purchase your domain.
Once you do that, go to the DNS manager and edit the "Point To" address. You want it to point to your Tumblr page.
In order to get the address to put into the "Points To" field, you need to click on the gear icon on Tumblr and use a custom domain name. Copy and paste the "A-record" to the "Points To" on godaddy.com. Then, save the settings.
Customize Your Tumblr Page :
Once you get your Tumblr page set up, you will be ready to start customizing it. Click on your blog. Then, change the name and description of the blog on the left hand side of the page. Be sure to use the keywords you found when you conducted your keyword research.
You can also customize your own theme. You need to use a simple theme that's not distracting, or it will take away from the pictures that you upload. Keep it at two to three colors.
Be sure to choose a theme that has different ad options for your page, along with different color settings.
Once you choose your theme, adjust the header's width to 560. You can put it at any height.
If you don't want to do this on your own, you can go to Fiverr and pay someone to make the header for you.
Once your page is customized, you'll be ready to add posts.
The first thing you want to do is pick an avatar. You can get a royalty free image from Flickr if you search within the Creative Commons.
Once you find a picture that you like, add it to your Tumblr page. Just go to the dashboard, select "Photos" and click "Use URL."
Copy the image location for the upload and use tags for the photo. Then, paste the URL to the "Content Source" for copyright purposes.
Once you do that, create your post.
Now let's move on to the last section.
Section 3-Tumblr Monetization:
In this section, you will learn how to make money with Tumblr. First, you will need to get followers.
Get Followers:
You need followers if you are going to make money with Tumblr. The first thing you need to do in order to get followers is to post good and consistent content.
Next, you need to follow people. Follow 200 people each day. As you pick people to follow, keep in mind that Tumblr will only let you follow 5000 people per account. Thus, you will have to start unfollowing some people to continue following new people.
You can follow people by clicking the plus sign on the post. You can also click on the notes to see all of the people that liked the post. You will also see the people who commented on the post, and the users who re-blogged the post. Follow the people who are on those lists.
Additionally, go to your dashboard and look at the posts from the people you are following. Look at their notes, and follow the people who are in those lists.
When it comes to making money with Tumblr, creating your own posts is the way to go. After all, that means you will be posting the content that you want to put out there. You will be posting offers and you will be able to make money off them.
On the other hand, re-blogging will help you get followers. Thus, re-blogging is also very important.
Once you get followers from the re-blogged posts, you can go to your dashboard and follow the people who have liked, commented and re-blogged their posts. Then, you can work to create content that's similar to the posts that are being liked, commented on and re-blogged.
Go to your blog settings and automatically publish posts. Throughout the day, it will automatically queue the posts
depending on your settings.
Load up posts with pictures from Google or Flickr. Then, schedule the posts by clicking the gear icon in the upper right hand corner.
Once you get some posts up, you'll be ready to start making some money.
You need to make sure everything is in place so you can get approved with AdSense. If you don't have a website or if you try to get approved with an affiliate offer, your account will be denied.
Thus, you need to buy a domain first. Then, set up a hosting account. Once the site is live, put four to six articles up on the site. Then, apply to AdSense with the domain name. You can then forward that domain name over to your Tumblr account.
Get the AdSense Code
Once you have everything in place, you need to create an AdSense account. After you are approved, log in and go to the upper left hand corner. Then, click on "My Ads."
Press "New Ad Unit." Then pick something that will go with your theme.
View examples of the ad types of and sizes and select the type of ad that you want.
You can create a custom channel.
Then, get the code. You will need to delete to things from the code.

Once your account is set up, you will need to do a few things to get noticed on Tumblr. That way, you will make more money with your ads.
You need to get noticed on Tumblr so you can get lots of followers.
First, you can edit your post and click the "Promote this Post" textbox.
Then, you will get two options. You can choose "Highlight this post" or "Pin this post."
If you pin the post, all of your followers will see your post. You will have to pay $5 to use this feature.
If you highlight the post, your post will stand out more. This will cost you $2.
You should use both options once each day.
Next, you can contact people who have lots of followers. Try to build relationships with them so they can help you promote your posts.
If you can't get help that way, offer a financial incentive for them to promote your posts.
Now let's look at keeping track of your Tumblr statistics.
You can use Google Analytics to track your Tumblr statistics. Just sign up for Google Analytics. Then, enter your website name, industry, time zone and Google username. Once you do that, you will get a tracking ID. Copy the ID and paste it under "Google Analytics Tracking ID" on your Tumblr page
Once it is up and running, you will be able to use Google Analytics to track the stats of people who visit your site. You will be able to see where they are coming from, along with other information.
